Board Ad Interpretation

Sometimes I wonder if active board, the host of the DaMB, makes money off the DaMBed. I usually take note of the ads that appear on our forum. There seem to be many from a site called Classmates.com. Another one I remember had something to do with winning a lot of money and there was one that was too narrow and didn't look right.

But lately a new ad has been put into the rotation and it is kind of weird. It is for a company called ESpin and has a headline that says, "Wanna Hook A Hottie?" Now that is all fine and good but the picture in the ad has what appears to be a guy standing before a ginormous tongue.

I decided I needed to get a screen grab of this and ask the rest of the DaMB Nation what they thought about it. Now since I decided to do that, the ad decided to no longer appear for me. I saw ad after ad from classmates.com and eventually gave up. I figured maybe it will show up eventually and I would capture it when that day came.

Some of you may know of the arrmo board ARRMINFO. It is in a kind of hibernation phase right now but I check it every so often to see if anyone has broken the silence. Just this morning I decided to visit and lo and behold, Tongue Man appeared.

Now my question is for the Ladies of DaMB Nation, is a guy with shaggy hair and a big smile standing in front of a ginormous tongue a hottie?

This question has been haunting me for days.

And if that isn't a tongue, what exactly is it? I suppose it could be a ginormous tube of lip stick.

I suppose that is possible, Pip. But does a pink surfboard make the smiling shaggy-haired fellow hotter than say a chartreuse one?

Perhaps it is my being from the swamp where if that guy was standing in front of a pirogue I would totally get it. Now no self-respecting guy from bayou country would choose to use a pink pirogue. Perhaps surfers have a greater respect for the color spectrum.

Either way it seems like the tight crop of the image leads to my confusion.

As a woman I have to say the kid is not a hottie according to my taste. But then again I always thought Richard Chamberlain was a hottie when I was a young girl and he's gay!! LOL I agree, the pink mostly likely attracts both girls and gay guys attention, thus clicking the banner.

Now Ive seen Artie, he's a hottie. Then again I always thought Artie was a hottie just by the way he thinks and writes smile.gif before I caught a glimpse of his erection? Nah, I'd better say upright physicality. "Erection" sounds so sexual for some reason...LOL

Those ads are targeted to your surfing activity - so they must think you're gay or a Republican or both.

It must be my George Takei obsession.

And my being the admin of the Antonin Scalia message board.

Funny thing, Takei was the first thing that came to mind when I read your initial post about this ad banner Artie.

I agree with everything said. he doesn't look like a "hottie" to me and that thing looks like a surfboard goes awry.

Heck, I'd like to go Hawaii and do some surfing myself. Can you imagine me on a surfboard?

No.
