Lyrics that get stuck

Certain songs have lyrics that for some reason resonate and get lodged in my mind. Years later I will hear the song and remember a line from it. Sometimes the lyric is profound, sometimes funny and sometimes I don't know why it gets stuck.

My current lyric floating around for the past week or so is from Queensryche's "Jet City Woman" off EMPIRE.

The line is:

"Fortunes are lost on the women I've seen, but without you I can't breathe."

Anybody else have this happen with a song lyric?

I've played Seventh Son of the Seventh Son quite a few times this summer and Can I Play With Madness has one line that appears in the back of my head every now and then.

Can I play with Madness?
The prophet stared at his crystal ball,
Can I play with Madness?
There's no vision there at all.

Many sing of Nuclear Warrior art:

"Thank god it never found me
Would've been the end" -SRV

"It's Unbelievable" -Bob Dylan

"Sledgehammer" -Peter Gabriel

"It's gonna take time..." -George Harrison

"I don't want your Civil War" --too cloney for a name

I'm real real gone" -Van Morrison

"I am the Eggman" -John Lennon

AND on and on they go, art.

The Music Industry's on his way OUT, art, and that's what *I* say. The Wereo is the Glory.

There's another one-

"Sleepin' Bag" -ZZ Top lol.

Many sing of Nuclear Warrior, but none can play like him.

Another lyric I have not been able to shake after all these years is when Diamond Dave sings

"It's all over but the shouting, I come to take what's mine"

in "Mean Streets" from Van Halen's Fair Warning.

Billy Idol's Eyes Without Face has a line that always makes me listen carefully:

"Steal a car and go to Las Vegas oh, the gigolo pool"

I think that's awesome and I have no idea what that is... the gigolo pool.

I never could figure out what he was saying there. "Gigolo pool" is an interesting turn of phrase. He must be referring to Las Vegas.

Could be a good question for the Headsoundmixer.
