The whiteboard is kind of counter-intuitive. If someone leaves you a message on your whiteboard, then when you log in you will see a "new whiteboard message" alert, just like when someone sends you a personal message.
If you want to respond to a message someone has left you on your whiteboard, and if you want to guarantee someone will see your response, you need to put it on their whiteboard. Then they will get the alert message. If you respond on your own whiteboard, unless they click on your profile, they will not know you have responded.
It doesn't work like people think it should, initially.
And unlike a personal message, it is posted for all to read. So if you post about iBeaux's minxiosity, she will be able to read it.
