SplitScreen Entertainment has announced its upcoming tribute album, Kiss My Ankh: A Tribute To Vinnie Vincent.
Though Vinnie himself has not released any new material in over a decade, "KISS MY ANKH" will pay tribute to the undeniable musical legacy of the former Kiss guitarist. Vinnie's compositions are widely regarded as a highlight of the Kiss catalog and remain a staple of the live Kiss set list. Included on the tribute will be selections from the three Kiss albums to which Vinnie contributed, as well as the two albums he released with the Vinnie Vincent Invasion. Participating artists and track listings will be announced as they are confirmed. Further details can be found at the SplitScreen Entertainment website.
KISS MY ANKH: A Tribute To Vinnie Vincent is scheduled for a Summer 2008 release.

If that was posted after April 1st, that's not even funny. Actually, it is. And heck yeah, I'm buying it.
All the tribute albums don't mean anything anymore.
Hey Tommy, welcome to the board!
I agree with you. I think when the first tribute albums came out it was a cool idea. They worked when they were able to get big names doing the covers. Some of the best ones are the KISS one, the first SABBATH one and the ELTON JOHN one.
Once some small record companies started doing them about almost any band they became a joke. I do have an Alice Cooper one that Dio is on that is OK though.

Vinnie Vincent Tribute still makes sense. But if they're ever gonna play tributes to Yngwie J. Malmsteen - the shredders better be unreal, or alternatively make it really crap and have all come out of the Steve Jones guitar school.
