I have to wonder why they called this movie "Funny Games" because there's nothing funny about it. It's a sick film about two psychotic, Ivy League school drop out-like guys who take a couple and their son hostage in their getaway lake cabin. My guess is the title is such because these spoiled psychos think what they are doing is funny and have no consciense to the horrific games they play.
Starring Naomi Watts and Tim Roth, this story is well written and includes a frustratingly weird remote control scene that determines whether this movie has a happy or sad ending. Unfortunately it's not interactive or I know a couple of golf club swinging Izod wearing f*ucks who would've been feeling the pain of having their gonads ripped off and fed to the dog within the first 20 mins of the film!
Although there's one particular scene that get's a 10+ on the "disturbing and just plain wrong" scale, this movie gets 4 Kisses for getting my attention and keeping it long enough to get thru the numerous slow and plodding scenes. The absense of a soundtrack until the credits roll is indeed a detriment.
