Speed Racer - 1 Squid The most accurate review of this movie said "it has something for every age group to hate." A simple plot made overly complicated by pointless storytelling devices is made even worse by repetitive action sequences that have absolutely no drama.
Some major problems:
John Goodman as Pops Racer - has none of the fire that made the cartoon Pops funny. He doesn't talk fast or yell. He does pick a guy up and spin him, though.
Ricci as Trixie - she looks old for the role.
The plot would have been a lot better if they had just taken the original plot from the series pilot ("The plans for the Mach 5 are written in invisible ink on the windshield of the Mach 5!")

Iron Man - 5 Squids This movie gives Spiderman 2 a run for its money as best superhero movie ever. The writing is very good; the pacing is pretty much perfect. The special effects and sound are as good as I've seen and are very artful. Robert Downey's delivery is very improvisational (whether he is improvising or just delivering scripted lines in an improvisational way.)
I seen ironman. it was pretty good. I wish someone else would have played the part besides a gay guy! Homo super hereos!lol

First movie I seen all year was Iron Man last Sat. It was good and they left out Ozzy's vocals at the end when the Sabbath song played. Looks like even Hollywood has given up on the Prince of Darkness.
