OT - Loced Out Ent Video shot at SMC STudios!

I don't do alot of Rap Music here at SMC. I try to stick closer to 'organic' music, but the guys in Loced Out are some of my closest friends, so, I do alot of work with them. This is their latest video that was shot mostly here at SMC. Check it out. Pretty cool vid. The Tracking Room is where Lil Young is doing his 'vocals', and the rest was shot mostly in the Lobby, Control Room, and Listening Room around the Pool Table...

I sat in on a few recording sessions. I like how they record the vocal then they freestyle on top of it. Do your guys do the same thing?

It depends...most of the time, Rappers don't freestyle...they will lay a basic Vox track, then double, and triple it...then lay adlibs, etc..

The Freestylers do similiar type thing...after they get their basic freestyle track down, they try and double or triple at least some parts of it...

It's alot of work...I much prefer just doing bands...but there is a reason it's SO popular...it's so DAMN financtially rewarding...!   wink.gif

That's what I mean. The doubled track and the ad libs where they basically groan and make noises. It sounds stupid when they're recording (especially if you're not wearing headphones) but sounds good on tape.

Scot, those people seemed to be using illicit substances in that video. And that masked fellow seemed to have a lot of money. Perhaps he could front some to the gentleman whose vehicle has a malfunctioning rear passenger side door.

The recording sounded great. The studio and GUITARS looked cool.

Ha...those were JUST props...U know we couldn't allow anything illegal at SMC!

...and the guy driving that car (Lil Young of Swisha House) is a 25 year old millionaire!  That car was just a prop...

The recording sounded great. The studio and GUITARS looked cool.

 TNX..glad ya liked it...their latest CD is really GOOD! I don't like RAP, have NO Rap Cd's in my collection...but that CD is bloody good! We have been working on it for almost a year!
